State League Finals Appointments

As the Football NSW State Futsal Leagues come to the money matches, it's not just the teams who are looking to keep their finals campaigns rolling.

NSW Futsal Referee Association's elite panel referees are also vying for the best possible finish they can achieve. With over eighty referees officiating through out the course of the Premier and Super League seasons, only thirty-two will kit up for a running role for this weekend’s final and next weekend’s Grand Finals, the numbers speak for themselves.

All of the officials appointed during the finals series in both leagues sat in on an intensive two hour training session where the nuances of the finals were covered along with some fine tuning of issues that have cropped up throughout the season.

“We have aimed to keep consistency in place until season’s end” commented a member of the NSWFRA Technical committee which is responsible for elite appointments. “And that’s not just in terms of decision making.”

“We want to make sure that the players know what to expect from the officials as the season enters the final phase. We also want to make sure that the officials who have done the job for us this year are rewarded for their efforts.”

The Football NSW Premier Futsal League will see Darius Turner and Gavin Lee oversee whether Campbelltown City Quake or Inner West Allstars will have what it takes to meet reigning premiers Sydney Magic in the men’s grand final. FIFA referees Ryan Shepheard and Scott Kidson will control the youth fixture between Campbelltown City and Sydney City, where the winners will meet Inner West Allstars next week.

Paul Respicio and Darren Allatt will find out if Botany Bay can continue their elimination run in the Super Futsal League men's grade as they take on Sydney Benfica. Still undefeated Dural Warriors await the winner. Wayne Ranson and Owen Ferguson take charge of the youth men’s match where, with Sydney Benfica already through, Breakers FC and Dural Warriors will be aiming to take their part in the grand final picture.
