The Technical Sub-committee and Management Committee of the NSW Futsal Referees Association would like to extend their congratulations to the referees appointed to the Football NSW Premier Futsal League and Super Futsal League Grand Finals.

For referees appointed to the competition decider, it is an honour, as well as a reward for their efforts and performance throughout the season. As expected, the appointments panel had a difficult task to decide on those who were given each job, however it is pleasing to have a quality pool of match officials to choose from.

FIFA Futsal World Cup Referee Scott Kidson will be partnered with 2008 State League Referee of the Year Andrew Best as Sydney Magic attempt to defend their Premier Futsal League Men's title against the 2007 Champion Campbelltown City Quake side. The Women's finale sees two previous winners of the Mario Mazzeo Award, Sam McIntosh and Peter Wilson-Mosey, set to oversee. The Youth Grand Final pairs Gavin Lee with Darius Turner, both of whom have walked onto the pitch for the FFA Nationals Men’s' final in previous years.

Select Group referee Owen Ferguson will be joined by State Titles Men's Final Referee Wayne Ranson to take charge of the Men’s Super Futsal League Grand Final between Dural Warriors and Sydney Benfica. Alessandra Moussa and Khaled Aly team up for the Women’s grade decider between Breakers FC and Dural. The Benfica and Dural clubs meet again in the Youth Grand Final where Paul Respicio and Nick Backo will position themselves on opposite touch lines.

For all appointed referees this is the culmination of a season’s worth of hard work and training. The Technical Sub Committee would also like to take this opportunity to again thank all referees involved in making this another successful State League Season.
