FNSW Winter State League Appointments
15-May-09

Appointments for the next three rounds of the Football NSW Futsal Winter State League have been published on the NSWFRA web site. Each round will give an opportunity to a blend of youth and experience while honing the skills of those referees wanting to step to the next level in their futsal refereeing.

State League Referee of the year Gavin Lee will make his first appearance at the Premier Football NSW Futsal competition this Monday when he joins Super League Men’s Grand Final Referee Wayne Ranson and Laura Elliott on the touch lines. Former FIFA referee Rob Porritt and FFA Nationals Men’s Final referee Darius Turner will team up with 2006 State League Referee of the Year Brendon Skinner to officiate on the other pitch.

May 25th continues the trend of Premier League players past and present moving to the role of official with FIFA referee Scott Kidson and Ross Fazzalaro in action. Premier League Grand Final referees Jonathon Moore and Peter Wilson-Mosey along with the experienced Bruce Bailey and Mark Jones complete the crew for May’s final round.

The new month brings FIFA Referee Ryan Shepheard to Homebush where he will join Khaled Aly and Darren Allatt in controlling one half of the fourth round of the competition. Young Referee of the Year from last year, Nick Backo, will team with a former winner of the same award Sam McIntosh. Along with Gordon McOrist, the trio will take charge of the second pitch to round out the first third of the competition

The Winter Super League gives referees the opportunity to continue to officiate on a high quality competition while giving excellent development opportunities to those referees hoping to move up the ranks in the State Leagues as the full club competition returns in October.

Due to the high number of referees requesting to be appointed to this competition, the number of opportunities for each referee to be appointed will be limited.
